About Blue Blazers

Who Are Blue Blazers?

Blue Blazers Entertainment was started by Craig Brooks and Mike Thomas. Craig and Mike grew up together in Central Florida, and have been best friends for over 20 years. After graduating from UCF, Craig began working as a nightclub photographer. He eventually opened up his own entertainment business, and has built the company up into one of the leading nightlife entertainment companies in Orlando. Mike took a different approach. After graduating from UCF with a broadcasting degree, Mike set off to build a career in radio. Inevitably, the two began performing at weddings: Craig in Orlando and Mike in South Florida. After years of gaining experience and getting married themselves, Craig and Mike realized they could help provide professional, high-quality DJ services at unbeatable prices.

Mike Thomas was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Orlando. He graduated from UCF in December of 2005 with a degree in Radio and Television Production. Starting out on his career in radio, Mike moved south to live on the Treasure Coast, where he quickly got a job working for a local radio station. Mike started out by providing play-by-play for high school football, basketball, and baseball. That quickly turned into hosting duties for his own sports talk show, and fill in spots on the station’s morning talk show. After just two years with the company, Mike was promoted and now is the full time host of the morning show. In 2012 a co-worker asked Mike to help him DJ a wedding. Mike has been DJing weddings ever since, in addition to his duties on the radio. Mike’s comfort behind the mic is evident, and his experience from a career in radio gives him an advantage on traditional DJs. “Weddings are a lot like a radio show, you’re pulled in several directions at one time. That’s why I tell my brides to relax and let me handle the schedule. It’s my job to make sure the evening is as the bride envisioned it. It’s her job to have the best night of her life.

Craig Brooks is a New York native but grew up in Orlando. After graduating from UCF, he began taking photographs at nightclubs around the city for theguestlist.com. In 2008 he started Clear Pong, hosting tournaments and events all over Central Florida. In 2012 he started his own trivia company, Tasty Trivia. Tasty Trivia is now the most popular trivia night in Orlando. Customers loved Craig’s unique hosting style, and made sure to come back week after week. Eventually guests began to ask Craig if he could DJ their wedding. Craig’s natural ability on the mic and ability to keep the party going made him the perfect emcee. In 2016 he married his longtime girlfriend Melanie. Being a perfectionist, Craig DJed his own wedding. “They said it couldn’t be done, but I did it. I DJed my own wedding.” Craig’s innate ability to connect with people makes him the perfect DJ for any occasion.
